About: "Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair."
The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

One of my favorite short stories. Written in 1892. Yes, it was written by a feminist. No, I am not one. But it is considered an important work of American Feminist literature in regards to women’s mental health. On top of that its just pretty dark and creepy. Ye be warned.

I like it because of its layers of depth. Not just a captivating story, it iswritten from a psychological standpoint — an area of study that was very limited and flawed at this time. It literally had me thinking about/analyzing it for hours, if not days. Out of the COUNTLESS short stories, articles, poems, etc. we read in AP English my junior year of high school nothing has stuck with me like this story.

Let me know your thoughts/interpretations.
